CELELALTE CUVINTE BIOGRAPHY
One of the best Romanian rock bands, their name meaning "the other words", Celelalte cuvinte was founded in Timisoara in the mid eighties by a group of music students. Their first release was a vinyl from a series called Rock Bands (nr. 8), containing four of their tracks. Soon came their first and second albums, Celelalte cuvinte I and II, issued before 1990. Their gorgeous songs, a unique, elaborated "lyrical rock", brought to the band a real and steady success. After 1990 they surprisingly changed their style to a heavier sound, the albums "Se lasa rau" - 1992 (It's getting bad) and Armagedon - 1995 gaining a completely new audience and unfortunately loosing most of their former fans. However, their latest release, "Ispita" (The temptation) seemed to have contented both "sides" of their audience. Intellectual and tough, sensitive and acid, Celelalte cuvinte keep their quest for new forms of expression. "Ispita" was followed by 2004's "NOS", keeping the bands tendency to experiment. "NOS" is a somewhat softer album than "Ispita", with lyrics focused on the effects of technology and the way it becomes a more and more significant part of people's lives.
