ABSU BIOGRAPHY

Absu started in 1990 in Texas, the US. Their musical style started with death metal but it soon evolved to black/thrash metal. Their lyrical content is mostly Celtic and Sumerian/Mesopotamian mythology. Proscriptor (vocals/drums) is the mastermind behind the band, the rest of the line-up is unstable.

With the album 'Tara', the band has completed a trilogy in which the first part is 'The Third Storm of Cythraul' and part two being 'In the Eyes of Ioldanach'. It is based on old Celtic mythology.

After the release of a compilation in 2005, entitled "Mythological Occult Metal 1991-2001", Proscriptor has found the musicians he needed to complete the line-up, which is now composed of:

Proscriptor McGovern - Percussives, Mellotron, Voices & Lyrical Magick
Vastator Terrarum - Guitars, Bass Guitar, Analog Synthesizers & Backing Voices
Aethyris MacKay - Guitars, Bass Guitar, Analog Synthesizers & Backing Voices

A new album, simply called "Absu", is being prepared for a 2008 release.
