Ground of Ruin formed in November 2003 in Athy, Co. Kildare. Since that time we have worked tirelessly to hone our sound and earn our way onto some of the most sought after bills in the Irish metal scene, such as Day of Darkness and the Whiplash metalfest and we have shared the stage with bands such as Decapitated, Goreotted, Anata, Discharge, Mourning Beloveth, Old Season, Mael Mordha, Eyes Closed, Abaddon Incarnate, Moonsorrow, Geasa, Desaster, Rotting Christ etc. To date we have recorded two c.d.s, a promo for 2005 featuring two songs and a new 6 track e.p. entitled Visions of Obscenity, we hope this release will propel us to the forefront of the Irish metal scene and gain us recognition in the metal scene worldwide. Recently we recruited new axeman Dom Brennan, who contributed to our new e.p. the songs are faster, the rhythms harder, the riffs far superior, the vocals more visceral and a much more ferocious and technical sound is waiting to be unleashed!
