TRAIL OF TEARS BIOGRAPHY
Trail of Tears is a Norwegian metal band formed in 1994 under the name of Natt (Norwegian for Night), having its name changed to Trail of Tears in 1997, to reflect changes in sound and line-up.
Trail of Tears combined male death growls with soprano female vocals, accompanied by keyboard melodies. As of 2007 they have released a total of five albums, the most recent being Existentia released January 25, 2007.
Trail of Tears broke up on November 28, 2006 due to the departure of several members. The news was released on their official website. All of their tour dates were canceled.
The future of the band is still uncertain, but vocalist Ronny Thorsen recently issued a message saying: "The decision to end the band has been made entirely without my consultation and approval, and thus Trail Of Tears is NOT dead and will continue in a new shape and formation. "
In January of 2007, Trail of Tears was confirmed to play at the Sweden Rock Festival in the summer of 2007. A press release from Napalm Records stated: "Trail of Tears reclaims vocalist Cathrine Paulsen for the new line-up. Cathrine, who can be heard on A New Dimension Of Might, returns to her former band on a permanent basis."
