The Axis of Perdition are a truly demented four piece from Middlesborough, UK--second only to the entity and work they've collectively created as The Axis. They are one of the few bands who've been able to garner wide critical acclaim and fanship by not playing music. Although their early work tended to be recognizable as conventional post black metal, their newer works have been some of the most sterile, abrasive, and truly frightening soundscapes conceived by man. The conceptual coherence of their albums is so strong that they have been often dubbed as "Cinematic", more or less solidifying the notion that The Axis are more of an experience for your senses, psyche, and fears than something to listen to on a whim and enjoy in the conventional sense of music listening.
