Somewhere between the esoteric phantasmagoria of The Melvins & the majestic open spaces induced by Hydrahead sound (Pelican, Mare, Isis) & sheer black metal (from Enslaved to Xasthur…), lies the southern hellboy known as Sun Of Nothing.
In 2003, with “..And Voices…” released by Blastbeat Mailmurder they projected Greek metal into the new millennium, redefining what should be expected from the country’s music scene.
After the album, they forged new material with extreme live shows opening for Burst, Electric Wizard, Sunno))), etc.
4 years later they confirm the excellent impressions left by their debut album with a mature & complete masterpiece, “…In The Weak And The Wounded”.
Intra-band turmoil led to the renewal of the rhythm section, imported from ridiculously underrated defunct black metal band End.
With this new & focused line-up they took the ride to Salonika where they recorded this new album with Greece’s number 1 extreme metal producer George Briggos (Homo Iratus, Into The Gore, Straighthate, Kvazar, etc).
“…In The Weak And The Wounded” is a journey which will lead you from personal claustrophobia to godless unchartered territory.
The dynamics of the 6 songs contained herein vary from trance-like soundscapes to unmerciful sonic holocaust.
The vocals of Ilias Apostolakis are still some of the most extreme that one can possibly experience within the whole spectrum of extreme metal (that “make Dani Filth look like Pavarotti” according to a journalist).
The material provokes a warm yet uneasy sensation, which is quite impossible to explain through words - but that is exactly the magic of this unique outfit.
