Soulfallen performs melodic dark metal from the black blooded, crestfallen heart of Finland. The band was formed from the ruins of Blacksmith in the summer of 2003 by Leikola, Luontama, Salmi, and Ekholm. With this lineup, in June 2004, the band recorded their debut demo titled
“Dark Remains” at Studio Watercastle. In the next fall Luontama felt compelled to leave the band after moving to another city, and Cieslak was found to take his place. In January 2005 the band grew to its current lineup when Kivimäki was found to play 2 nd guitar. With this lineup the band spent the year 2005 writing new material and performing various gigs around the country gaining a notable underground audience. In February 2006 the band returned to Studio Watercastle to record three new songs for their second demo bearing the title “Death of the Tyrant”.
