There are at least four different bands with this name.SILENCER GENRES
1. Depressive Black Metal band from Sweden
As the band's members Nattramn and Leere rarely ever have given any interviews, played live or maintain a website, not much is known about them. In an e-mail interview with the german "Legacy"-magazine Nattramn stated being massively mentally deranged.
On their release "Death - Pierce me", Silencer feature sophisticated, well-produced atmospheric Black Metal with strange-sounding rather untypical vocals, that resemble more of an extreme falsetto-shrieking.
After the release of "Death - Pierce Me", the vocalist, Nattramn, was institutionalized in Växjö Psychiatric Ward, where he currently resides.
DEATH - PIERCE ME (2001, Prophecy Productions)
2. Metal band from USA. Denver,Colorado's SILENCER have boldly established themselves as a worthy up and coming force to be reckoned with both nationally and internationally in the underground Metal scene. They have received countless top ranked reviews from such international publications as Metal Maniacs, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, Pit, Rock Hard, Heavy Oder Was, Snakepit, plus countless underground fanzines and webzines for their demo debut EP "Kozmos". Touring in support of "Kozmos" SILENCER have managed to build up a very respectable following in the south western U.S., regardless of the fact that their touring has been entirely self-financed, promoted and booked. SILENCER's newest material builds up higher levels of melody, speed, aggression, heaviness and concept over the existing foundation of thrash and true Metal influences.
