Obsidian Gate play German symphonic black metal in the vein of Limbonic Art, having released 2 albums and an EP. Their official site, http://obsidiangate.de, has not been updated since 2003; it seems the band has split, however this has not been official announced.

Its (ex-)members are now playing death metal in "Vermis", with their website (http://vermis.org) stating that "Obsidian Gate" are a "Symphonic black metal band, with every cliché of the genre", making the split-up somewhat more apparent.
