NECROCEST BIOGRAPHY
The very first incarnation of “Necrocest” was formed way back in the mid 90's which included members; Scot Roper on Vocals, Mat young on drums, Woody on Guitars, Jon young on Guitars, and finally "The Ox" on bass. The band began writing music for their planned first Demo "Beneath the flesh". Sadly, after doing a handful of gigs the band split up, and went silent for some years.
In 2000 we started writing the material for our first demo CD "No waste of flesh", which was then recorded in october 2001 at GrassRoots Studio, Cardiff. The CD was sent out to promotion companies and after gigging around, the response was good, "Fantastic! This is goddamn balls out death metal, I love it,.."HMAS.org", "...best unsigned death metal band" - Raw nerve promotions. The band decided it was time to recruit a fifth member on guitars, Neil, who we stumbled upon to complete a not-so-strong five piece lineup, as sadly, Simon decided to leave us at this time to seek other things to fulfil his pleasures.
In the year 2000 we started writing the material for our first demo CD "No waste of flesh", which was recorded in October 2001 at “Grass Roots” Studio, Cardiff. The CD was sent out to promotion companies and after gigging around, the response was good, "Fantastic! This is goddamn balls out death metal, I love it..." - HMAS.org, "...best unsigned death metal band" - Raw nerve promotions. The band decided it was time to recruit a fifth member on guitars, enter Neil, who we enlisted to complete a strong five-piece line-up. Sadly, Simon decided to leave us at this time. This didn't stop us, as Neil filled in on bass duty for 2002. After an extensive period of gigging anywhere and everywhere we could, including supporting "Malevolent Creation", "Immolation", "Aborted", and Welsh death metal veterans "Desecration".
We went on to recruit full-time bassist Rich in 2003. The writing of new material continued, which was going to show people what “Necrocest” was all about; brutal in-your-face-fuck-you death metal! Neil finally had the chance to get back on the guitar and “Necrocest” to play with a strong back-line. The studio was hurriedly booked in 2004 and the recording of our new CD "Dead Pretty" completed in just three days.
After a struggle to get our new stuff recorded, Byron decided to leave due to personal reasons, including the birth of his baby. The awesome Alex Matthews, who had previously seen “Necrocest” playing live in his hometown, now replaces Byron. Alex has a style so unique and evil he fitted right in!
The CD “Dead Pretty” was released on May 23rd 2005 by Casket Records, as a 10 track CD. Featuring bonus tracks from the "No Waste of Flesh" demo. We supported Swedish band “Visceral Bleeding” (now touring as support for Deicide) on their tour of the UK in May 2005. The summer brought acclaim for the band’s CD from both “Kerrang!” and “Metal Hammer”.
The gig brutality has continued with September 'Gutting Europe' tour dates with ‘unique Leader' bands; “Mortal Decay” (US), and “Beheaded” (Malta). Support for Czech band “Fleshless” (Cze), and "Defeated Sanity" (Ger) in February 2006's 'Killin' and Carnage' tour. Necrocest are planning to continue their assault on the Death/Gore metal scene with many more gigs and new material from their warped minds.
