Morterra is a death/thrash metal band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Over the past year and a bit, Morterra has played in many cities to a wide variety of crowds, receiving great reviews and praise for their showmanship and musicianship. These five individuals knowingly wield their instruments with graceful skill, and brutish force with an ability to command and envoke a crowd with such animosity, that noone is safe in a pit from Morterra. Morterra's music can be described as fast-paced, gruelling metal with riffs that could knock the pants off of any scene kid.
The band officially started in mid-October of 2004 with original members Viktor, Alex, Tim, Damien, Darryn (Guitar) and Dan (2nd Vocals). Shortly after, due to musical differences, Darryn decided to leave the band. Shortly before Morterra's debut into the scene with their first show in February of 2005, local promoter/guitarist Alex 'Aroc' Jones was recruited as another guitarist. From here on in was where things began to take flight for Morterra. Morterra has been the band to watch out for, as they have overcome many obstacles on their way to underground success. The Apocalypse Demo, shirts, Supernova's Battle of the Band's and most recently, Burlington's highly publicized Youthfest, have been some of many of the bands accomplishments in the local scene.
