1. The Passing of Autumn
Grey; the sky, overcast and dark
Sheds a tear upon the barren ground
On silent feet the gathering mist
Creeps around the foothills of cold mountains
Deep in the forest the trees shudder and sigh
As if a voice speaking through the wind
Whispers, "I have returned"
I have longed for this day
Once again the earth descends into shadow
The weaning year relinquishes its warmth
And embraces the frigid winds
Face of autumn, colorful and fair
Has come at last
When the night swiftly moves across the land
She will soon be gone
Everything that still remains will soon disappear
The grey sky will be overcome by darkness and despair
The cold rain will give way to falling snow
Until dead of night, freezing and somber, settles in the sky
The forest, naked and silent, suspended in slumber
And her words, once soothing, are lost again
There is a new voice in the air, icy and harsh
A warning to all that its time will soon be near
Winter will return again
The endless cycle prevails
The leaves open up their wounds
To full crimson glory
And wither away to an untimely demise
2. Artifcats of the Great Race of Yith
A terrible dream, horrific images
Haunted my sleep and left me in awe
In the vast ocean of sand
Lies the ruins of an ancient race
A city, remnants of lost world
Contains the manuscripts inside
The power of their minds, all encompassing
Beings of a dying world
a "black, aeon-dead orb in far space"
Through time and space
They travel and possess
A tentacled, pungent mass of living flesh
Hideous form in which dwelt their minds
Long after mankind is gone
They will return again
The Great Race of Yith, all powerful
A terrible dream, horrific images
Possessed my body and rendered me mad
Come and behold the tale of what I saw
Is this a nightmare or can it be true?
Madness dominates my brain as I search for evidence
The artifacts tell the terrible truth of the Great Race of Yith
3. Children of Ilúvatar
4. The Ruins/Memorial
I wander the ruins of a world passed
Alone I remain to witness the decay
Empires rise and fall
But I will always live on
Cold the hearts of mortals, crippled by disease
War and hatred brought them to their knees
Turned into ash, the fires burned on and on
Swallowed by the ground, their monoliths crumbled
Havoc and chaos ensued, and the sky was red
Greeting the horizon of the bloodstained ground
The last cries of the battle died out long ago
Scattered were the bodies of mirrored mortal foes
I wander the ruins of a world passed
Reflections are all that I possess
Empires rise and fall
But forever I last to journey on
If only they had learned from the bloodshed
Now the earth is dark and the empires dead
…and I live on
