1. The Great Ride
In Etelkoez during the year 889 AD, the chieftains of the seven Hungarian tribes swore a covenant of blood, where each man swore their allegiance to Arpad, son of chief Almos, who was leader of the largest tribe. Almos was the son of Scythia chief Uegyek, descendent of King Attila. The tribesmen swore that their chieftains would always be of Arpad descendents. This Pagan Blood Oath united the Magyars as one. In 895 AD under the leadership of Arpad the Magyar hordes journeyed from Etelkoez to the land between the rivers Tisza and Danube, where King Attila reigned over 400 years earlier. The year 896 AD marked the end of the great migration, known as Honfoglalas.
2. Verszerzodes (The Blood Oath)
Our dark and distant past
Flows from the blackest rivers of old
Ancients wandering before the creation of time
Far beyond the mountains of Carpathia
To the vast Forests of Etelkoez
The seven tribesmen of the seven hordes
Under the mighty Arpad
Whom shall reign for all eternity
As I cut my arm and we unite as one
Our fate forever sealed in blood
Verszerzoedes
3. Tarkans of War
Tarkans of war, the gods of fire
Surrounding the christians with flames of death
Arrows of fire, sabers of death
Death from one thousand birds of prey
The sword of mars will avenge the fatherland
Gods of war, bring back the flame of old
Gods of fire, hear our cry for revenge
We will prevail with strength and might
From Scythian lands we have descended
Mountains tremble from the gallop of our hordes
Through black storm clouds, beneath the gods
Under the fist of the most ancient ones
Gods of war, bring forth the strength for war
Gods of fire, hear our cry for revenge
We will prevail with strength and might
4. Seven Arrows
Seven tribes united by their pagan blood
Their fate forever sealed by the reign of Arpad
Seven tribes, their numbers many thousands strong
Ancient honour, our past will never be forgotten
Nyeck, Megyer, Tarjan, Kurtgyarmat, Jeno, Ker, Keszi!
Nyeck, Megyer, Tarjan, Kurtgyarmat, Jeno, Ker, Keszi!
Ancient Magyars, the fierces of the pagan hordes
Bound by blood, they leave their land Etelkoz
Ancient Magyars, their numbers many thousands strong
Ancient honour, our past will never be forgotten
Nyeck, Megyer, Tarjan, Kurtgyarmat, Jeno, Ker, Keszi!
Nyeck, Megyer, Tarjan, Kurtgyarmat, Jeno, Ker, Keszi!
5. The Conquering of Carpathia
The bloodthirsty hordes of Magyars
Descend once again into Carpathia
Seven tribes bound by Pagan Blood Ritual
They have returned for the fourth and final time
Skulls crush beneath their mighty sabers
Inhabitants annihilated, no village lay in peace
They have returned for the fourth and final time
Skulls crush beneath their mighty sabers
Inhabitants annihilated, no village lay in peace
Christians pray but cannot be saved
"Lord, save us from the arrows of the Magyars"
Conquering of Carpathia!
Conquer!
The bloodthirsty hordes of Magyars
Descend once again into Carpathia
Seven tribes bound by Pagan Blood Ritual
They have returned for the fourth and final time
Skulls crush beneath their mighty sabers
Inhabitants annihilated, no village lay in peace
Christians pray but cannot be saved
"Lord, save us from the arrows of the Magyars"
6. In Battle
In 452 A.D the Huns reassembled along the North
Eastern Alps, and prepared for a full-scale land
invasion of the Italian Peninsula. As Attila and
the Huns crossed over the Alps and moved down into Italy, they terrorized the inhabitants of the Western Roman Empire. The city of Aquileia at the tip of the Adriatic was wiped off the face of the earth. The fugitives from that pitiful city fled into
the lagoons of the Adriatic and founded the new city of Venice. Much of the Po Valley--Milan,
Verona, and Padua--was devastated and depopulated. The Huns had successfully eradicated all of northern Italy.
7. As Attila Rides
The proclamation of war
raise your swords
it will not end until the last drop of blood is spilled
this is our awakening for war
if we meet death we will die with honor
proclamation of war
raise your swords
it will not end until the last drop of blood is spilled
stike the war drums
if we meet death we will die with honor
if we meet death we will be honoured forever
if we meet death we will die with honor
8. Pillage First Then Burn
(Hungarian Translation to English)
The trees are dancing in the fire
burn down the cities
Pillage first then burn
We ride with Hungarian pride
leaving villages behind us in ashes
We ride through rome victoriously
Pillage first then burn
