1. Overture: The Legend Of Gévaudan
INSTRUMENTAL
In the year 1764 screams of despair echoed
in the valleys and forests of Lozere.
Hundreds of souls were lost...
The legend speaks of a mystical beast
2. Set Me Free (Quid Novi Ex Africa)
[pour mon cher, janvier 1765]
My journeys in Africa, were succesful in every way.
Homecoming, I have waited forever
To see you, to feel you, to die for you.
But still I cannot return to your grace
I´ve heard of faceless terror reaping the land.
The king has set a price for the beast.
I must leave for Lozere, to save our souls.
To prevent the powers of death from harvesting the land.
We will find a way
How to reunite
And then find a way
How to set me free
Set me free from myself
Walking down the blackened tunnel of my life.
The Candles light my way.
As I walk onwards all the light fades away.
What is the purpose of this darkness?
Through the wind of change, through the death of light.
I Find my self going towards the end.
I have lost my faith to everything but our love.
So let this suffering never end.
We will find a way
How to reunite
And then find a way
How to set me free
Set me free from myself
3. Lozere (The Land Of Shadows)
And so de Monét arrived at his destination.
It was raining, dark clouds covered the sky.
And the deep shadows sweeped across
the valleys of the damned, Lozere
(voices of the spirits of the night)
Necesse est multos timeat quem multi timent,
necesse est multos timeat quem multi timent
4. Hours Of Passion And Despair
The only thing one doesn´t prepare himself for is love.
This is where de Monét was also unarmed.
When I first saw you, I knew damned I was.
My heart trembled, of the glaze in thine eyes.
(the spirits of the night)
You know you can´t touch her, she´s undead and you´re alive.
You know she wont let you (I hear voices in my head)
Ohh... the second look, shattered my soul.
I would curse myself for just one kiss leave this all behind.
(the spirits of the night)
You know you can´t touch her, she´s undead and you´re alive.
You know she wont let you (I hear voices in my head)
This fiery passion inside.
The stars will align on our side.
The night is ours and the moon is calling me,
to join you to the other side
My soul is naked with you.
The shadows embrace our bodies
I can feel cold steel on my skin,
a sacrifice of true passion
I have been kissed by the dark!
As de Monét burned in passion,
he felt this glum melancholy.
Now was the time. In the darkness of the night
he was "embraced"
destined to live in the shadows
This fiery passion inside.
The stars will align on our side
The night is ours and the moon is calling me,
to join you to the other side
My soul is naked with you.
The shadows embrace our bodies
I can feel cold steel on my skin,
a sacrifce of true passion
And now the animal inside de Monét´s soul was awaken
5. An Open Heart
[pour mon cher, Février 1765]
The famous wolf slayer, Denneval,
has failed his cause.
I am now the only one
to enpower, encapture, to stop this all.
please have an open heart, I give you my love,
forgive me!
The king has sent his aid to this unattainable quest
Antoine de Beauterre has replaced the great Denneval
Together we have fought
the powers of evil, the beast, still a mystery
please have an open heart, I give you my love, forgive me!
The hunt began again, and this time with the aid of
royal Antoine de Beauterre it was destined to be the last
[pour mon cher, Septembre 1765]
Antoine de Beauterre captured a large wolf.
The killings have stopped.
He believes that it was none other than the beast.
My word has no "autorité" here
You may await my return to your grace,
the following passes of the moon.
6. Equilibrium Of Unlife
INSTRUMENTAL
The peace was returned to the land of Gévaudan
and lord de Monét also thought he had found his peace at last.
The balance, love and death.
He had them both, love through Ambre and death through himself.
But still the shadows arise.
7. Finale: The Consolidation
[pour mon cher, mars 1766]
Tonight I was delivered news of ill.
The beast is now back and feeding on it´s prey.
I´m ready to face the beast and myself.
This time I fight all alone, without his majesty´s absurd masquarade!
(Ambre)
Jéan Luc! My Love!
I hold your heart
(Jéan Luc)
Ambre! My love!
Is this the end?
I call on you spirits, spirits of the damned!
You must now heed my call!
I have the power and need your help!
Deliver me the beast!
Tonight I undertake the last crusade.
The beast shall taste my merciless steel!
I am armed with spells and charms of the underworld.
My senses are strong and so is my will.
(Ambre)
Jéan Luc! My Love!
I hold your heart
(Jéan Luc)
Ambre! My love!
Is this the end?
[pour mon cher, Juin 1767]
The beast is finally dead!
I can´t forgive myself for what´s done. I´m going insane.
No one can free me from myself.
Nemo nisi mors
Finally I will be set free,
through the remorse and love I had for the beast,
the one living inside all of us.
The crystally tears,
when I embrace this all,
my unlife will be vanished,
I am free.
Let my death be not your sorrow,
but praise mother earth for taking me into it´s veins!
After the beast finally disappeared,
vanished all the wolves from the valley...
Even now, if you dare venture into the misty valleys of Gévaudan,
you may hear the piercing howls...
thousands of souls, lost forever...
[Jéan Luc de Monét, letters for my loved and worshipped one Ambre de Ducá]
