1. Graven Idol
Her scent comes to me
As the night breathes
Her countenance grave
A waxed pallor, that lays every tomb
open to the sky
So she sees and ever watches
The stars revolve and dance for her
A velvet dream of crimson revolt
The rites of all... deliver her kiss to me
I ascend... erotic misery
We are blood to the bloodless
We are honour to the honourless
and We are gods to the godless
The cruel day hurts my eyes... it is night I ever long for
If sorrows sweet gifts have offered me thus
I am all that has been and cannot refuse
As her smile has ushered in the night
So many countless times before
I hear a foot on the stair...
I turn and she is there.
With all the gifts of the grave to offer me
How can I refuse
A graven idol such as thee
2. Dark Song
[Written originally by ancient Irish pagan poet Amergin Glangel]
I am the wind that breathes on the sea
I am the wave, wave on the ocean
I am the ray, the eye of the sun
I am a tomb, cold in darkness
I am star, the tear of the sun
I am a wonder, a wonder in flower
I am the spear as it cries out for blood
The word of great power
I am the depts of a great pool
I am the song of the blackbird
Who but I can cast light upon the meeting of the mountains?
Who but I will cry aloud the changes in the moon?
Who but I can find the place where hides away the sun?
AiliIath Nerenn
From the breeze on the mountain to the lake of deep blue
From the waterfall down to the sea
Never changing or ending on the voice of the wind
Sing the dark song of Erenn to me...
3. Autumn's Ablaze
And so it seems
I am unbound in my misery
Drunk in my sobriety
...and twisted animosiety
The private moments of man
Are rarely ever seen
Yet, autumn gathers me up
And sheds me in her leaves
Falling takes forever
From the grace of man
I fell so far
No one ever saw
How far
She is dressed in golden brown for me
Sheds her leaves like a second skin
There is fire, in your eyes tonight
No brighter sun, no darker moon
Sister Morrigu
This way comes,
And so it seems it is
Another passionate night
Another hopeless fight
And another battle that I've lost
4. Journey's End
Shafts of morning dew, fade to dusk
Fires in the distance, make shadows dance
Under this Blood Red Sky, a million martyrs died
And beneath the pale moon's face
They shall Again Arise...
Some things are best left in dreams
Reality, can be a cruel mistress
Are your lessons learnt?...
Chapters close, veins collapse
A passage ends,
A rite is earnt...
Their Blood hath quenched the land
Their spirit has set the stone
And forever the Pagan lands shall cry
With a heart so heavy...
...and limbs so weary
Let no man for his sins atone our days of Glory have gone...
5. Solitary Mourner
And so the rain kept on falling
Still a solitary mourner stands
Beneath the sorrowed eaves
Among the rotting autumn leaves
And watches over you
All the flowers laid
Have long since bowed their heads
And all the wailing women
No longer cast their cries
And all who once wore black
Have returned to their lives
Yet the mourner has not
Forgotten
And will stand that way forever
If I am the mourner
Who shall know my name?
Who shall ever know my pain?
A solitary mourner stands
to watch over you...
6. Bitter Harvest
A moment of clarity
It spoke to me in tongues
It spoke to me of ruin
Of destitution, and of pain
Where night, it never ever
Seems to come
To ease the misery of the day
Degenerate whores
Expose their stinking wares
to a foul race of man...
whores for all..., in time
Death soon shall bind
These soul less froms of men
To the dead of their kind
To live all their lives again
They would die in the very
Same way...
Clinging to a profane hope that
A place beyond the grave
May repay their suffering
And their pain
In a way that no whore could ever ease
The misery of the day...
