Dusk. surrounded by the trees,
patiently waiting for the moon to appear
to guide me through the deadly and deceiving shadows
Finally, I can see a light enough to get me going
I start to walk through the still dark forest,
afraid of what I'll meet
Suddenly, I feel shadows gripping a hold of me
holding me strong, hard. I can't move so I start to scream

Under the night sky we gathered
with the moon as our only light
The forest was completely quiet
except for the hooting of some owls
The silence was broken now
by the crunch of our own footsteps
As we moved forward in the snow,
so cold, so deep
The forest so quiet looks so dead
but feels so living
so frozen, so asleep, but in some way
we've awakened its spirit
Without fear we ended our walk
