1. Prelude. Love Denied
Composed and performed by Agnieszka Antoniak and Jan Wójcik.
Prelude. Love Enslaved. (Instrumental)
2. Set Them Free
Hoping that You are alive
Is the biggest mistake
Our life stays hidden
Behind the grayness
Let’s set the stones on fire
Let’s set our spirits free
Let’s burn the false legacy
Just set your spirit free
If You would be going
Take me with You
Between nothingness
There is a path
As dawn emerges far away
We’re still twilight-embraced
And please believe me
I prayed to take your hand
Perhaps it’s something more than a love song… Existing in the times when grayness of the world overwhelms us, sensing the fetters, we seem to immerse ourselves in this vague monotony. Even if breaking the state of powerlessness appears to be impossible, we can make it. Love is the answer. Opening our hearts to this one special person is not just the greatest happiness one can feel but also relief from the pain of the world as well as an unleashed strength.
3. Buried in Between
Waiting without pausing for breath
With wasteland deep inside
Dust that can’t be washed away
By merely sounds of rain
Every single droplet
Seems so tangible
Hope can be a quicksand
Or salvation from a fall
As tears are falling
Rain is a bridge to relief
As you beg for this moment
Which always comes too late
Born for ground, not for water
Meant for living, not for thinking
When changing ground for water,
We will drown one day
And only wolves will guard our coffins
Among thorny, desert myrtles
Where world is not ending
And hell’s not beginning
We often feel like caught somewhere in between: in our emotional life or when reflecting on human existence. Lasting in a deadlock, always on the border and never on one of the sides, we wait for a change. Furthermore the torpor caused by our indifference, fear, anxiety as well as by lack of courage and endless waiting overtakes us. We should realize that acting numb is just surviving, not living. There must be something to push us out of this impasse. Are we alive or just breathing?
4. On the Verge of Judgement
Blinded by illusions
Decisions made in haste
Led by false emotions
Against the common sense
...we allow them to take our hands
We may often forget
The attempts determining our way
Made by mistake
All that you might possess
All we ever had
Means nothing in the face of time
The approach of the inevitable fall
Awaits us all with no exception
The light that shone so bright
Will fade away
Someday the form will shatter
Fall into pieces
Dust instead of all creation
I 'm still trying to keep it to myself
This, what even words cannot express...
Is life we all live the life we really deserve? Or maybe we are given only a poor substitute for it? We dedicate our hearts to something that destroys our essential feelings. We spill our veins and with our very blood sign agreements for existence in everlasting rat race. Instead of constant giving we should rather think what we could derive from it. Is the sum of all profits and losses balanced? If we do not receive from our lives what we might expect, are they still the lives worth fighting for?
5. Hour of Retaliation
Our illegal reign is over!
We loose control…
Now we stand alone and face our past
And clearly see what we have done to this planet
We have inflicted so many wounds
And now the harm must be repaid!
Centuries of hate between civilizations,
The eternal bloodshed dictated by greed
We tend to commit the mass suicide
Immersing ourselves into selfishness
Devoid of conscience; inner being distorted
Humanity sinks deeper and deeper
In the sea of oblivion
We’ll drown forever!
The hand that once fed will be the hand of executioner
The hand of doom
The last day is close!
Human, created for the purpose of resembling God, throughout the centuries has revealed the real truth about himself, gradually turning our world into a real hell. Day by day, we witness examples of narrow-mindedness, be it thirst for power, wars or the quarrel between civilizations. Our behavior proves that all we crave for is becoming sovereigns, achieving goals at all costs, no matter what price has to be paid. Humanity digs its common grave. The time approaches, our days are numbered...
6. The Hollow Men
We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Shape without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion
The eyes are not here
There are no eyes here
In this valley of dying stars
In this hollow valley
Sightless, unless
The eyes reappear
As the perpetual star
Multifoliate rose
Of death's twilight kingdom
The hope only
Of empty men.
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
Fragment derived from “The Hollow Men” by T.S. Eliot.
7. The Darkest Crime
Embrace this sepulchral landscape
Dead ashes buried deep in the ground
Their voices whisper within memory
But shame and guilt gag our mouths
Stand here lost in painful reflections
This horrible silence tears soul apart
Just like the desperate cries of those
Suffocating in the gas chambers
What once was the factory of death
Remains as a cemetery without graves
And nothing can reveal
How much they suffered
Maybe paved with fear alleys
-unspeakable hell
Thousands of bodies devoured by fire
The highest sacrifice for the sake of sick ideals
This innocent blood flowing in the waters
Still poisons our wells
Where vigilance sleeps
Nightmare begins to reign
The Second World War appears to be one of the blackest cards in the world’s history. The ruthlessness of the Nazi regime took its bloody toll in almost every country in Europe and also in several remote places on Earth. Concentration camps and, above all, the Holocaust became the greatest tragedies humanity has ever witnessed. Nowadays, when those terrible events seem to be but a bad memory, the extreme right movement attracts much attention again in democratic states. Such activities in Austria, Germany or Poland are only a top of an iceberg. We shall not allow the story repeat!
8. Passage. Farewell
Passage. Farewell. (instrumental)
9. Still Before My Eyes
Since then I can't calm down
This nightmare is still before my eyes
My wounded soul can't find serenity
Life seemed to be an open book
A long way ahead
'till this day
It was just the beginning of a long journey but
It became a one-way-ticket travel
So many beautiful days are now nothing but a plan that failed
High hopes fell down as fast as they happened to appear
She will no longer keep her eyes open…
Everything seemed so stunning but she choked on it
A thought within the mind, the sickness deep inside
Their lust became razor-sharp, their hearts turned into stones
Since then I see that dark locked-up room
Imagine her face, her silent cry
Fettered. Suffocated. Body thrown out the window.
Used as a tool, she passed away.
Once upon a time, a young girl was killed by two drunk men. Helpless, she could not oppose their brute force and finally died in the result of suffocation. During the trial, the murderers admitted that they acted out of sheer boredom. Senselessness of this event is unbearable. How could a man act in such way? Nevertheless, we should remember that many similar crimes against women occur also on the global scale. Ill-treatment on the sexual, social or cultural background is commonplace in the Third World, Asia, Northern and Latin America as well as in Europe. If we don’t wake enough confidence in ourselves to speak about it, then who will?
