Karl Sanders is the brains behind death metal band Nile. He released the solo album Saurian Meditation in 2004, which is in marked contrast to the Nile project. Whilst still heavily leaning to middle eastern influenced music, this album is a dark ambient piece of work, using traditional instumentation along side atmospheric sound effects, and distant guitar sounds.
