A 5 piece melodic death band from Swindon in Wiltshire.

Buried Beneath was unleashed onto the local music scene in late 2003 and helped create a now revitalised local metal scene. The pure brutality of the band was something never heard before in Swindon. A scene polluted with weak-willed emo music and dire punk bands had just been injected with some much needed life. Formally known as ‘Her Deadly Rival’, brother guitarists Jordan and Joel Blake teamed with vocalist, Simon Cleary to try and piece together the ultimate extreme metal line-up. Needing a skilled drummer, Richard Cowdry (formally of grunge rock outfit, Anubis) was considered and eventually given the role. Before material was written, the band practiced and performed cover songs of thrash metal titans, Slayer.

Needing a bass player to complete the line-up, the bands progress began to slow down. After considering the options, the band decided to keep an eye on bassist, Simon Allcorn. Simon was a big extreme metal fan and in the end it was an obvious choice. The band became a stronger unit with two new members and began to terrorize the live scene.

Buried Beneaths sound has evolved since the early crushing songs and now technical guitar melody has been added to the music to take the band to the next level. Influences come from Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse, The Haunted and Slayer.
