APOSTASY BIOGRAPHY
In spring 2000 Håkan Björklund and Mattias Edin started to jam together in Kramfors (Sweden). After a while Fredric Edin joined in and started singing a bit, at the time the band had already recruited a new guitarist.
In January 2002 the band recorded their first demo named "Marchosias" in Studio Underground.
Later that spring Andreas Edin (Bass) and Dennis Bobzien (Keyboards) joined the band. Same spring guitarist Lars Engström decided to leave the band. As replacement for Lars they found Henrik Johansson. Then they got an offer from Black Mark about recording an album. The debut album Cell 666 was recorded summer 2003 in Studio Underground in Västerås, Sweden.
In 2005 the band released their second album Devilution. On March 9th, 2005, shortly before that album's release, Guitarist Henrik Johansson was found murdered, having been stabbed to death by his girlfriend. The band has stated that they will continue producing Blackened Death Metal in his honour.
Apostasy is also the name of a short-lived Chilean thrash metal band that released one demo and one album around the late 80s/early 90s.
