ALINIAN BIOGRAPHY
Alinian was born in 2001 at the initiative of Sebastian and Radu Grosu. The two brought former schoolmate Septimiu Turcu to play the bass. The boys played a mixture of rock, medieval, Romanian folklore and heavy metal music. The memebers of the band consider that such fusion of styles could be described by using the general concept of progressive rock. When playing live, the organizers tend to characterize the band's style as folk-rock, medieval rock or art-rock.
The band debutes as a trio at the Architecture Student's Club A in June 2004 at the Alternative Competition. MTV records and broadcasts the performance of the song "My Dement Sister".
After another two concerts in Big Mamou, the band meets the new drummer Valentin Nicolescu, well known for his collaborations with bands such as Cri-gri or Margento. In November 2004 the talented vocalist Teodora Iordache joins the band. The four boys and a girl are ready to record the first demo Alinian 2005, still available for download on the web-site. In september 2005, Septimiu Turcu leaves the band and he's replaced by Iulian Mureasan, also and old frind and schoolmate from Victoria, a small town in Transilvania.
