Formed in July 2004, Adastreia have kicked up a storm with their debut recording, a four-track demo which features "Cold Moon"," Emersi", "of your last regrets..." and "Aislinn". Shortly after the recording Adastreia featured on Terrorizers Unsigned bands CD and later in the year came 4th in the readers poll for best unsigned band. In March 2006 Adastreia recorded their single 'Masked' which they have been promoting at live shows. With only a small amount of gigs under their belt and so early in their career Adastreia have now acted as support for Epica, Deathstars, Xandria, Edenbridge and have played the prestigious Bulldog Bash festival.

By amalgamating a range of metal, folk and classical influences, Adastreia have redefined the boundaries previously established by female fronted metal bands, generating a distinctly unique quality to their sound.

Adastreia's music explores the boundaries of traditional rock and metal formal structures enveloping subtle yet complex alternations between time signatures and expanding ternary and standard verse/chorus structures. Their music embraces a very dark atmosphere that delves into black metal-esque territory, eerie keyboard melodies, rich guitar riffs and quirky musical twists that keep the audience guessing. However, Adastreia never fails to deliver beautiful melodic hooks that entice the listener as Alexandra utilises her classical vocal training and combines it with a versatility that embraces both the richness of operatic tone and the honesty of emotion inherent in the rock styles.
