Aarni has been described by some as an avantgarde doom metal band with progressive rock elements that draws inspiration from many influences: Finnish folklore, the Occult, Transhumanism, Mythology, Personal and collective liberation, Psychoanalytical theories, H.P. Lovecraft and a host of other topics. Aarni's music resembles its influences. The music seems to hover between i.e. wild experimentation, prog metal and folk music. Lyrics languages include Finnish, Classical Latin, English, French, Ancient Egyptian, Enochian, and glossolalia.
